DECK REPAIR & WATERPROOFING

PROJECT SYNOPSIS: 400 square foot habitable sundeck in Los Angeles, CA. The objective was to provide an exterior waterproof deck surface for our clients to stage furniture and host gatherings on the 2nd floor of their residence and really put to use the Architects design vision of reconnecting with nature and the natural landscape. A Dex-o-tex waterproofing system was applied over the existing plywood sheathing to achieve a surface that is durable and ready for outdoor furniture in just a few days. All while paying close attention to all of the critical waterproofing detail areas at the base of deck parapet walls, sloped drainage and drainage piping inlet areas, as well as in and around the exterior door threshold areas. Client chose to proceed with a light reflective top coat to reduce the heat island effect and reduce overall temperatures in the habitable interior spaces below the deck surface as well as keep their new deck cooler in the summer months. All in all, the deck waterproofing was executed flawlessly on this project by the Gaveet Waterproofing & Restoration team.
